Auckland-based figurative painter Sharon Duymel was born in the Netherlands and has lived in New Zealand for most of her life.

Duymel's work is concerned with exploring issues of identity, lived experience and the affect of dynamic human relations from a feminist perspective.

Sharon paints figurative works in oils on canvas or Belgian linen.
